Uffa Fox lived and has his boatbuilding business in Cowes and it was from here that he designed and built Airborne Lifeboats. (Other yards around the UK also built Airborne Lifeboats to the same designs).
The Classic Boat Museum has an extensive range of Uffa related artefacts including documents, photographs and his boats. This includes a Mark 1A lifeboat.
